New Faces in Raj Bhavan: Haryana & Goa Welcome Governors, Ladakh Gets a Lieutenant Governor
President Droupadi Murmu on Monday (July 14, 2025), appointed Governors for Haryana and Goa and a Lieutenant Governor for Ladakh.
President Murmu accepted the resignation of Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) as Lieutenant Governor Ladakh and replaced Kavinder Gupta in place of him, the release from the Rashtrapati Bhavan said.
The appointment of Mr. Gupta comes in the wake of fresh agitation announced by Ladakh Apex Body demanding Statehood and other constitutional safeguards.
Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh and Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju were appointed as Governors of Haryana and Goa respectively, the release added. Mr. Ashok Gajapathi Raju was the former Union Civil Aviation Minister.
It also stated that the above appointments will take effect from the dates they will assume charge of their respective offices.
