‘India, China and Brazil may face strict sanctions if they trade with Russia’, NATO chief’s warning

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte on Wednesday warned that countries like India, China and Brazil could face heavy secondary sanctions if they continue to trade with Russia. He made this statement during a meeting with senators in the US Parliament.

This statement has come at a time when US President Donald Trump has announced to give new weapons to Ukraine and has also threatened to impose 100% tax (secondary tariffs) on countries buying Russian exports, if a peace agreement is not reached in 50 days.

Rutte fears – Putin will try to win the war in the next 50 days

Mark Rutte said that he fears that Russian President Vladimir Putin can use these 50 days to capture more land in the war and kill more people to turn the peace talks in his favor. He said, “Looking at the current situation in Ukraine today, we should say that whatever Putin does in the next 50 days, we will not recognize it at the negotiating table.”

Europe will give money, America will give weapons – new agreement

Rutte said that a new agreement has been reached between America and Europe, under which America will give Ukraine a large amount of weapons, not only air defense, but also missiles, ammunition and other weapons. European countries will pay for it. He said that long-range missiles are also being discussed, but its details are being decided jointly by the Pentagon, NATO’s Supreme Commander and Ukraine.

Warning to India, China and Brazil – talk to Putin

Rutte directly warned the three countries and said, “If you are the President of Beijing, Delhi or Brazil, then now is the time to think because this can prove very costly for you.” He appealed that countries like India, China and Brazil should talk to Putin and tell him to take the peace talks seriously, otherwise these countries can suffer a huge economic setback.

Trump’s decision praised, but concern over 50-day delay

Republican Senator Thom Tillis praised these steps taken by Trump, but said that the 50-day wait worries him, because it can benefit Russia.
