Claim that Pakistan’s Shaheen-3 nuclear missile failed again, debris fell in Balochistan, it could have become a powder keg

There are reports of failure of Shaheen missiles, which Pakistan boasts about, once again. The report claims that the Shaheen-3 ballistic missile test of the Pakistan Army has failed miserably and fell in Balochistan on 22 July. This missile went out of control and strayed from its target. This missile was fired from Dera Ghazi Khan in Pakistani Punjab. But after being launched, it strayed from its target and fell just 500 meters from the Loop Sehrani Levies Station in Grapan Pass of Balochistan. Local Baloch citizens have released a video claiming that the Shaheen-3 missile has failed. The Baloch have said that if this missile had fallen a few more meters in a civilian area, a major accident could have occurred and many civilians could have lost their lives.

Baloch leader Mir Yar Baloch has issued a statement strongly condemning the Pakistan Army. He has termed this test as a violation of Balochistan’s territorial sovereignty and civilian security. He has said that the Baloch Republic has called it a conspiracy of “planned displacement and plunder of mineral resources in the name of military intervention”. He tweeted that “The Republic of Balochistan strongly condemns the repeated failure of Pakistan’s missile tests, which violate the territorial integrity of Balochistan and endanger the lives of civilians.

Claim of failure of Pakistan’s Shaheen-3 missile

According to local Baloch citizens, “The Pakistan Army has conducted a failed missile test in the Balochistan Republic on Tuesday 22 July 2025.” Let us tell you that this is not the first time that Pakistan’s missile testing has put the lives of Balochistan citizens at risk. In October 2023 also, a missile was fired from Punjab, which fell very close to a nuclear facility near Dera Bugti. It fell just a few hundred meters from a populated area, which could have caused devastation. Earlier in May 1998, Pakistan had conducted all its 6 nuclear tests in Chagai district without the permission of the Baloch. Its effect is still being seen in the area and the people of that area still suffer from cancer and skin diseases. Apart from this, the water of the entire area has become polluted.

In October 2023, Russia’s state news agency ‘Sputnik’ reported that the Shaheen-3 missile had strayed from its target during testing and fell near a sensitive nuclear center in Pakistan. This incident raised serious questions about Pakistan’s missile technology and security protocols all over the world. If that missile had been active, it could have caused terrible devastation in Pakistan and nuclear radiation could have leaked at a terrible level.

What is the range and capability of Shaheen missile?

Shaheen-3 missile has been developed by Pakistan for nuclear attack, but it is also capable of carrying conventional warheads.

Shaheen-3 is a medium-range ballistic missile MRBM.

– Pakistan claims its range to be 2,750 km.

– Solid-fuel rocket motor engine has been used in it.

– This missile can carry a nuclear bomb weighing about 500-700 kg.

– Shaheen-3 can be fired from a road mobile transporter-erector-launcher.

– The cost of Shaheen-3 missile is likely to be around Rs 50 to 60 crore.

However, Shaheen-3 missile is failing repeatedly. Which has put Pakistan’s defense experts in great tension. Experts say that the failure of Shaheen-3 is a threat to Pakistan’s security. If this missile falls on civilian population or a nuclear center during the test, it can cause devastating destruction.
