Big setback to Hindu side in Mathura Janmabhoomi-Idgah dispute, Allahabad High Court rejects demand to declare structure as disputed

Today, the Allahabad High Court heard the Mathura Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi and Shahi Idgah Mosque dispute. People from the Hindu side were demanding that the court declare Shahi Idgah as a disputed structure.

The court heard the demand of the Hindu party’s lawyer Mahendra Pratap Singh and reserved its decision. Mahendra Pratap had said in the court that no evidence of a mosque being present in Idgah has been presented yet. Neither is the name of the mosque in the Khata Khatauni.

Not only this, there is no record of it in the Municipal Corporation. Nor is any tax being paid. The court was going to pronounce its decision today. While giving the verdict, the court has refused to accept Idgah as a disputed structure and has also rejected the petition of the Hindu side.
