Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has resigned from his post. Dhankhar has written a letter to President Draupadi Murmu in this regard. He has cited health reasons in it. Dhankhar said that he has taken this decision on the basis of medical advice, giving priority to his health. He has cited Article 67 (A) of the Constitution, saying that his resignation should be accepted with immediate effect.
Expressed gratitude for support
In his letter, Jagdeep Dhankhar said to President Draupadi Murmu that I express my heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support and the pleasant and wonderful working relationship that we had during my tenure. He also expressed his gratitude to PM Modi as well as the Council of Ministers. Jagdeep Dhankhar wrote that I have learned a lot during my tenure.
He said that the warmth, trust and affection I have received from all the honourable members of Parliament will always remain in my memory. He further wrote that I am deeply grateful for the invaluable experiences and insights I have gained as Vice President in our great democracy.
Mentioned the remarkable progress of the country
Dhankar further said that it has been a privilege and satisfaction for me to witness and participate in India’s remarkable economic progress and unprecedented exponential growth during this important period. It has been a true honor for me to serve in this transformative era of our nation’s history.
